Amazing work! The amount of detail in this is astounding. The crown of thorns is dead on! :) The background is just as impressive as the foreground. :)

Reminds me of one of my final pieces in school where I did a triptych of three scenes of Jesus' life.

I just rise to begin my Sabbath. This is the first piece I found my way to for a closer look. I see here the heart of the one who loves me. I love HIM.

When I think about all the pain, all the "why" questions, I think of this time. Your painting gives me a beautiful & meaningful image of it.

If HE thought it was worth it, then I know I can accept this world as it is. That is part of the full prayer called the Serenity Prayer..."this world, as it is, not as I would have it. He will make all things right if I surrender to his will".

This was when Jesus did the ultimate..."your will, not mine". He was completely human. Your painting shows how clearly He could see what His decision would cost Him.

It impresses me that He fulfilled almost 400 prophesies about the coming Messiah. The thread of a seed, Eve's child, that runs through every book we call the Bible. The Passover Lamb, offered on Passover.

Your composition tells this story with complexity and a thoroughness. A visual image of what He prays about, His future. The 3 close friends, about a stones throw away. He told to pray that they would not fall into temptation. The all too real truth...their spirits willing but flesh too weak.

His humanity, how you have Him with His arms outstretched on the rock. Abraham offered his son on a rock and God stopped him, saying He would provide the offering. At that time a ram appeared for the day's sacrifice. It was symbolic of this one on the rock in your picture.

I like how you did the glow over His head, a symbol of the Holy Spirit, with Him. And the glow of His Father in the sky, listening. The expression on the face of Jesus is very powerful. The face is there, why should I try to put words to that. He knew that what had been written about Him had reached its fulfillment. He earnestly prayed for another way.

In the end, He quietly trusts in His Father's will. Even still, when He knew the cup could not pass. He went forward, knowing all.

He knows how horrible this will be for Him, but says "not my will but yours be done". The prayer that would become the prayer of all the souls who would decide to follow Him down through the centuries.

The view of Jerusalem is painted very well. And fills out the thoughts in the prayers of Jesus.

Thank you. I have a relationship with Jesus, and I appreciate that you painted Him this way. I think He does too.

I also like your comment: "Behind him is Jerusalem with his  three fellas".

Hmm. I couldnt say ¨speechless¨ but in the fact that you describe this piece more then anyone else means that you really love him. now,► this is not reply for your message Mel. I know you understand.

My story is maybe fiction but let me show you this point of view.
The one who was really predicted before Jesus born, was Judas. He had a kings blood and born in leo sign. He was strengh and very inteligent. But Herodes fear of this that cos it was predicted that the child with a star sign will kill him. Judas born also with a star sign but it wasnt that one which three kings calculated.
So after few years Judas appear in the Jesus community cos he knew that Jesus has a gift of interpretation. The thing what was between that was Gods will.
On the cross Jesus cried at the very end and said: ¨Lord, why did you betray me?¨
He realize that it was power of Judas(or energy) what he was describing to his apostols and to the other people.
But Judas had another story. He realized that Jesus believed him but couldnt understand why he had to betray, because He didnt see things so clear. He wasnt teacher.
*At this point I have to say that this is my interpretation, I m not saying absolut but people through ages couldnt see the feelings between because they solve them, judge them. They didnt try to understand what they felt. Judge me for this (what I wrote) and Ill take your cross easy as I can. Ill be happy anyway.
with respect♥

I met them in plane to uk. One girl were freezing so I talked to her. We were sitting with one guy who was reading book by Dickens "Great Expectations". So we were three. She said to me that she studied art. She is doing byzantine drawing. She was russian. She asked that guy beside her what he is doing and he said, he is a painter from Israel.
We talked to each other and showed our experienced life. It was nice flight.
I realized that I have no more power for drawing or painting so I going to finish last two pieces and end my line here. It was a nice time. Maybe I will come back again. Who knows what will happen in eternal life. ..
keep working on your art Mel. you are the best.

He said to them where he is going ... and they saw his future.. so they killed him cos they saw his power...
♦ but that power wasnt his.
